The San Francisco 49ers have played in seven total Super Bowls (1981, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1994, 2012 and 2020) and have won five of those appearances. Therefore, this year's Super Bowl will be the 49ers 7th appearance, and hopefully sixth win.
San Francisco has one the greatest Super Bowl records of any franchise, going 5-1 entering the 2020 Super Bowl.
They are, however, underdogs in this year's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
