The 49ers won’t have their fourth head coach in four seasons in 2017.

At least, that is, if Chip Kelly has a say in the matter.

Today, Kelly, who signed a four-year, $24 million contract in January, was asked if he was committed to staying with the reeling 49ers beyond this season.

“Unless the media has an opportunity for me somewhere,” Kelly joked. “I’ll always explore those opportunities.”

Kelly then provided a direct answer: “I’m not going anywhere.”

On Wednesday, CBS Sports reported “several coaches” in the NFL expected Kelly to leave after the season and return to college, where there could be openings at LSU, Texas, Penn State and Oregon.
