Antoine Bethea has been a big asset for the San Francisco 49ers ever since he joined the team in 2014. Unfortunately last season was cut short for Bethea due to a torn pectoral muscle that forced him onto the Injured Reserve list after only seven games of action.
This season the veteran is set to make a return. Coming into his 11th year of action, Bethea brings a leadership sorely needed by a very young 49ers defense — especially in the secondary. Needless to say, he is also a very talented strong safety.
On the flip side, however, Bethea will probably be seeing less action this year as his replacement, Jaquiski Tartt, absolutely shined on a defense that had very little else going for it.
