49ers Rumors: Coach Jim Harbaugh now "less likely" to receive contract extension?

There has been a load of 49ers rumors surrounding San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, with everything from trades to possible contract extensions being discussed by sources around the NFL.

Now, per Nate Bouda of NFLTradeRumors.co, "according to Matt Maiocco of the CSN Bay Area, the recent contract extension signed by Seahawks HC Pete Carroll makes it seem “less likely” that 49ers HC Jim Harbaugh will sign an extension in the coming months."

From Maiocco's perspective, Jim Harbaugh may ride out the last two seasons of his five-year, $25 million contract in hopes of winning a Super Bowl and garnering a pay raise from either the San Francisco 49ers, or on the open market.

"It’s difficult to envision a scenario in which Harbaugh accepts a lower deal now rather than take another shot at seeing if he can earn a Super Bowl-winning type of extension,” Bouda quotes Maiocco as stating.

If this is indeed the case, then be prepared for a host of 49ers rumors surrounding coach Jim Harbaugh and his future as the next two seasons progress.
