Pumphrey Runs Wild in the Aztecs’ 45-40 Win Over Berkeley

It was only a matter of time.

In what may have been the biggest game of his San Diego State football career, senior running back Donnel Pumphrey broke the 23-year-old school rushing record held by Marshall Faulk, setting a new career-high along the way.

Pumphrey ran for 281 yards – and the Aztecs needed each and every one of those yards in their 45-40 win over University of California-Berkeley.

But that one stat does not tell the whole story of a game that had fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
