San Diego Padres: week #12 recap

At the half way point of the 2017 season the San Diego Padres have a 31-45 record, 19.5 games back of the division leading Dodgers and 5 games ahead of cellar dweller San Francisco. They have a .500 record at home but are 14 games under .500 on the road.

The first half of the season has been marked by inconsistency throughout the pitching staff and through most of the lineup. The most consistent Padre, Yangervis Solarte, is on the DL with an oblique strain. There have been surges and slumps everywhere else you look.

This past week totaled a 3-3 record with surges by Cory Spangenberg and Jose Pirela, while Hunter Renfroe and Franchy Cordero are struggling.
