Myers excited to begin rehab assignment

PHILADELPHIA — Wil Myers hasn't played in a game since June 13, though if you ask him, it's more like May 10. The Padres outfielder-first baseman injured his left wrist that day, returned to play in three rehab games with Triple-A El Paso and another three with the Padres, promptly went back on the disabled list and then into surgery.

How long his latest rehab assignment will last, not even he knows, though it certainly will be longer than three games. Myers took part in optional on-field batting practice Sunday, driving the ball with authority at Citizens Bank Park.
