The first month of the 2016 season is officially in the books. After May 1, here are the standings for the National League West.
Three teams are tied atop the NL West with a .500 winning percentage: the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers and... the Colorado Rockies.
Colorado's surprise start to the season can largely be attributed to the left side of their infield: shortstop Trevor Story and third baseman Nolan Arenado.
Arenado leads the NL with 23 runs scored, 11 home runs and 25 runs batted in, while Story hit 10 home runs in the month of April, tied for the most home runs in April by a rookie in Major League Baseball history.
