After the most active off-season in baseball, San Diego Padres‘ GM A.J. Preller was nearly silent during the lead up to the July 31 non-waiver trading deadline. The one move Preller made was not to dump players who will be free agents following the conclusion of the season. Rather, the Padres’ GM traded away outfielder Abraham Almonte for left-handed reliever Marc Rzepczynski.
