Tim Duncan, the two-time NBA MVP and 15-time All-Star who retired after last season, is going to take over one of the most highly coveted positions in the league.
“He is the coach of whatever he feels like,” Spurs’ Coach Gregg Popovich said at media day on Monday.
Duncan was not present Monday, a true shocker for anyone who knows how much the power forward loved to talk to reporters.
Popovich joked that Duncan will be in trouble for missing his favorite day.
“Timmy is being fined on a daily basis, $2,500 a day, every day that he does not show up,” Popovich said.
