When the All-Defensive Teams were selected yesterday, one thing was written in stone: Kawhi Leonard is on the first team. Something that wasn’t guaranteed was Tim Duncan being selected to a team, but I expected it.
With that said the NBA recognized Duncan’s defensive efforts and named him to the All-Defensive
Second team. It’s the seventh time Duncan has been selected to the second team, making it his 15 defensive team selection overall.
After missing either team last season Duncan returned as a selection. Duncan’s defense was much needed especially with Tiago Splitter and Leonard missing at least 15 games apiece.
