BERKELEY, Calif. — On the first day of the Cal Winter Invite, the Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team battled hard in singles action and flourished in doubles play as all three doubles teams pulled away with convincing victories.
Senior Parminder Kaur tag teamed with third year player Vanessa Nommensen for an impressive victory. The Gaels duo led from start to finish, and defeated Cal Poly’s Celine Gruaz and Seriana Saltzen, 6-0.
Jana McCord partnered with Kareena Manji on the first day, and displayed an all-around game as the Gaels came out on top, 6-1, over Molly Reed and Susanne Boyden of the Mustangs.
