MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team forced tough matches Saturday afternoon, but ultimately fell in a competitive day to No. 7 Vanderbilt, 6-1.

The Gaels nearly captured the doubles point, but just couldn’t quite catch the break. The top pair of Emma Critser and Danielle McIntyre dropped the match on court 1, but Jana McCord and Kareena Manji battled in a back-and-forth match on court 2. The duo just missed tying the match, as Vandy captured the match, 7-5, for the double point.

Clementine Clement captured her second straight singles win in the third position, as the sophomore claimed the three-set victory.
