BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Saint Mary’s (4-7) will travel south once again this year to take on Bakersfield (1-8) in a three-game set spanning both Saturday and Sunday. The Gaels will play a back-to-back doubleheader on Saturday before playing the third and final game on Sunday.
Saint Mary’s is looking to rebound from a tough 11-0 loss against Cal on Wednesday. A usually tidy Gaels’ defense committed five errors in that contest and a seven run fourth inning for the Bears put the nail into the coffin.
As much production as the Gaels have received from their pitching and defense this season, the team will need to begin hitting soon and the upcoming series may be the most opportune time to get the offense going.
