BSB | Two Gaels Drafted In Top-Five Rounds Of MLB Draft

NEW YORK — Two Saint Mary's baseball players were selected Tuesday in the top-five rounds of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft, with right-handed pitcher Drew Strotman going in the fourth round to the Tampa Bay Rays and infielder Zach Kirtley going in the fifth round to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Strotman was picked by the Rays with the 109th overall pick, the fourth pick in the fourth round. Kirtley represented the 154th overall pick, the 19th pick by the Cardinals in the fifth round.

Strotman and Kirtley's selections give Saint Mary's five total picks in the top-10 rounds over the last two years.
