TUCSON, Ariz. — Saint Mary's baseball's Kevin Milam was named a national Freshman of the Year Wednesday by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper as part of the publication's 2017 Freshmen All-American team, adding yet another accolade to his decorated rookie year.
Milam was one of four players named National Freshman of the Year by the publication. He was joined by Texas A&M second baseman Braden Shewmake, St. John's starting pitcher Sean Mooney and Oregon reliever Kenyon Yovan. He was the only multiple position player named to the Freshmen All-American team, which includes 112 players from all over the country.
