Rutgers coach Chris Ash calls quarterback Tylin Oden a 'home run' recruit

PISCATAWAY — With four quarterbacks on scholarship with at least two years of eligibility remaining, Rutgers coach Chris Ash didn't need to take a quarterback in the 2016 recruiting class. But with the program transitioning to a power spread, there was a sense of urgency to land a dual-threat quarterback with the skill set suited to run the offense.

Things worked out for Ash, who was ecstatic to land Tylin Oden, a three-star dual-threat quarterback from Tennessee.

"It wasn't a make-or-break position for us, but it was important to find the right type of quarterback," Ash said last week on national signing day.
