Here's why Rutgers is starting to look like a Big Ten basketball team

In recent years, the Big Ten has had a couple of teams jockeying for position near the top of The Associated Press Top 25.

This isn't one of those years, as the league has just one team in the top-15 (No. 15 Wisconsin) and just three teams in the Top 25 overall (including No. 20 Purdue and No. 22 Maryland).

But that doesn't mean this is a down year for the Big Ten. In fact, the most coaches will tell you the opposite.

"There are no easy games in this league,'' said Minnesota coach Richard Pitino, whose team, at 15-5 overall and 3-4 in league play, has nearly doubled its overall win total (8) and already has surpassed its league-wins total from last season.
