I know as well as anyone that there’s almost nothing to dislike about NFL Sundays. Even people who don’t like American football, or sports in general, can get on board with NFL Sundays. The term “NFL season” has all but supplanted the traditional fall/early winter descriptors for the months from September through January.
Which is why we have to do better by ourselves. We have to stop letting our commentators, analysts and annoying friends who watch too much NFL Network use the outdated and overused colloquialisms that cheese-up our national pastime.
You know what I’m talking about.
