It's only a game, kids.
Two Indiana High Schools - Griffith and Hammond - played each other over the weekend, and things got chippy fast. Midway through the first quarter (!), a Hammond player laid out a Griffith player going in for an easy layup. Things got ugly in a hurry:

Both teams have had their remaining games canceled by the Indiana High School Athletic Association, and even the JV and freshman squads are ineligible to compete for the rest of the 2014-15 academic year. Both teams will also be on probation for the 2015-16 season, and every coach and player involved is required to complete a sportsmanship class.
