Yup, the goalie misses that and it goes it.
The own goal in soccer is about as embarrassing as it gets. For the player that is. For us fans, they are about as funny as it gets (unless it's our team), and we were gifted two this weekend.
First we have the German National team against the United States in a "friendly" (i.e. meaningless) match. Germany is ranked No. 2 in the world, and was expected to beat up on the U.S. But we're 'Merica.
Fantastic. Truly inspiration. We won 4-3 because of that. LOLGermany.
Then there's also this gem from the MLS, where a Chivas USA player forgets what goal he's shooting at.
This should come as no surprise to you: Chivas USA is in last place.
