ESPN reporter Shelley Smith, who has been off the air for six months receiving multiple rounds of radiation treatment for breast cancer, will return on April 30th.
Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch reported that Smith will travel to Hawaii for a pre-draft feature on Marcus Mariota, and will also interview him after he is drafted. She will resume five more rounds of radiation starting May 11th, but told Deitsch that she was “basically cancer-free” and that this is to “eradicate any microscopic fibers that might have gone undetected.
