Northern Illinois took to Instagram on Wednesday to post six possible new field designs for the 2015 football season, and not all were created equal.
They mostly range from acceptable to sharp, except for the one with the silhouette of a corn field, which might be fine on its own but looks too busy with the Illinois silhouette at midfield.
The best is the one with the large Huskie shadow with “NIU” at midfield and “HUSKIES” in the end zones; the one with the Huskie logo at midfield is a close second. We also don’t mind the one with the Illinois silhouette and red dot marking the school’s DeKalb, IL, location.
