Bullock, Friars bounce back from rocky first half to nip URI, 63-60

PROVIDENCE - It was quite a strange day for PC’s leading scorer, Rodney Bullock.

The junior forward was clearly ruffled early as he missed three free throws, turned the ball over three times and only attempted three shots from the field in the first half. Nicola Akele did a good job using his 6-foot-8 length to thwart Bullock and frustrate him on scoring moves.

The second half was a different story. Bullock got rolling offensively early in the second half and never really let up. He finished with 17 points, 14 coming in the second half. No shot was bigger than a difficult hook shot in the lane just inside three minutes that broke a 53-53 tie and gave the Friars the lead for good.
