Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has taken to social media to express his joy at returning to action.

The Frenchman was given a rare run out at Prenton Park for Liverpool Under 23s on Wednesday but could not prevent the youthful Reds from losing 2-1 to Wolfsburg Under 23s in their opening Premier League International Cup clash.

Despite the result, Sakho was still happy to get back on the pitch and posted a positive message and collage of his recent activity on Instagram.
