An unsung hero during the Portland Trail Blazers’ unexpected Summer League tournament run was Nick Johnson. The second round pick out of Arizona didn’t play a major part in Portland’s pre-tournament games, but broke out against Toronto in the second round to keep Portland’s title dream alive.

He averaged just 10 minutes in the first three games, but scored double digits in the last matchup prior to the tournament. This scoring performance against the Spurs earned him an uptick in minutes from Coach Jim Moran.

In the first tournament game against the Chicago Bulls, he played 25 minutes and scored 11 points.
