Jimmy Butler trade will cause problems for Northwest Division

A Jimmy Butler trade to the Timberwolves was always meant to be.

The Wolves sent Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine and the seventh pick to the Bulls for Jimmy Butler and the 16th pick in the draft.

For Minnesota, this trade is an A+.

Butler is the defensive anchor the Wolves need to lead a young squad. Minnesota also escapes Dunn, who put in an underwhelming rookie season. And they get to trade LaVine, who’s coming off a major injury with his ACL tear.

The Wolves ended last season as the division’s worst team at 31-51.
