Charlotte Observer: Henderson Sees Opportunity In Rip City

Before hitting the links for his second annual golf outing benefitting homeless children in the Charlotte area, Trail Blazers guard Gerald Henderson spent some time with Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer to talk about his departure from the Hornets this summer. The veteran swingman was traded along with up-and-coming power forward Noah Vonleh to Portland in exchange for Nicolas Batum back in June.

After six seasons in Charlotte of witnessing teammates come and go, Henderson admitted that he wasn't shocked to find out he was dealt to the Trail Blazers. To land in Rip City, however, was a pleasant surprise for the 27-year-old shooting guard.
