Blazers Can't Find Fourth Quarter Magic in Loss to Orlando

Friday the 13th proved to be unlucky for the Portland Trail Blazers (18-24) as they fell, 115-109, to the Orlando Magic (17-24) in front of an attendance of 19,344 at Moda Center.

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for 60 points, but it was Orlando’s tandem of Nikola Vucevic and Elfrid Payton that prevailed in the end. The Montenegrin Vucevic scored 30 points on 13-of-18 shooting to go with 10 rebounds, while Payton's 19 points on several clutch baskets in the fourth quarter would spell doom for Portland.

The Blazers dug themselves in a hole early, allowing the Magic to start the game on an 18-1 run before a Lillard layup snapped the home team’s 0-for-9 start from the field at the 7:19 mark of the first quarter.
