On Tuesday night, the U.S. Women's National Team defeated visiting Switzerland 4-0.

Four Portland Thorns FC players started for the U.S. Women: defender Emily Sonnett and midfielders Tobin Heath, Allie Long, and Lindsey Horan.

The U.S. Women played a scoreless first half before finally breaking through immediately in the second when forward Lynn Williams latched onto to a poorly placed defensive pass and finished past Swiss goalkeeper Gaëlle Thalmann.
