CONCACAF Champions League Postgame | C.D. Dragón 1, Portland Timbers 2 | Sept. 27, 2016

San Salvador – The Portland Timbers defeated Salvadoran side C.D. Dragón 2-1 at Estadio Cuscatlán in Group B play of the CONCACAF Champions League.

C.D. Dragón took the lead in the 54th minute when forward Kevin Malara danced around two defenders and finished his shot past Timbers goalkeeper Jake Gleeson.

The Timbers, however, equalized in the 79th minute. Forward Fanendo Adi struck a bouncing rebound that found its way through the Dragón defense and into the back of the net.

In the 90th minute, Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe powered a free kick past the outstretched arms of Dragón goalkeeper Henry Hernández to give the Timbers a late lead that they would not relinquish.
