PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland guard Kaylie Van Loo celebrated senior day with a team-high 15 points, but the San Diego Toreros ended the regular season with a 72-54 win over the Pilots on Saturday afternoon at the Chiles Center. Sophomore Julie Spencer just missed a double-double for the Pilots, finishing with nine points and eight boards.
The Pilots (6-23, 4-14 WCC) looked good in the first quarter as they jumped ahead early. Van Loo gave the home team its first lead with a lay-up, and Sara Zaragoza followed a San Diego bucket with a nice turn-around hook shot to keep the Pilots in front.
