STANFORD, Calif. – The Portland women's tennis team opened play Friday at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships hosted by Stanford at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium. Portland had two players win their opening round singles matches and one doubles duo remains in the main draw. Play will continue on Saturday with consolation and main draw action.
Portland sophomore Radina Dimitrova won her opening round singles match in three sets against Miyo Kobayashi of San Jose State. Freshman Anna Oberg also won her first round singles match against Paulette Wolak of Stanford in straight sets. Both players were knocked out of the main draw in the second round.
