PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots beach volleyball team has been seeded at No. 5 for the 2017 West Coast Conference Beach Volleyball Championships, held in Santa Monica this weekend on April 21 and 22.
The Pilots (3-5) swept Oregon in two 3-2 matches to start the 2017 season before heading into a tough weekend at the Monterey Invitational where they faced No. 3 UCLA, No. 13 Grand Canyon, San Jose State and WCC competitors Saint Mary's and San Francisco. The team left the tournament having battled top teams and defeating the Dons 4-1 to record their third win of the season.
