Pilots Push Past Pacific with Convincing 2-0 Shutout

PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Pilots compiled a season-high in shots and Larkin Russell and Hannah Griffiths Boston each found the back of the net as Portland rolled to a 2-0 win over the Pacific Tigers in a West Coast Conference women's soccer match played on Friday night at Merlo Field. Russell, a freshman, collects her first career game-winner, while sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Lusby records her fourth shutout of the year.

Russell's goal came early as the Pilots (8-4-3, 2-2-1 WCC) took command in the second minute. Maddie Dieker sent a pass across the top of the box, and Russell was there to bury a shot into the left corner of the net from 25 yards out.
