BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- The CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to an 11-4 win over the Portland Pilots in the opener of a four-game series on Thursday afternoon at Hardt Field. Portland sophomore Cody Hawken hit a three-run homer during the loss.
The Roadrunners (3-2), who are coming off a win over No. 24 UCSB on Tuesday, took control of the game with five runs in the first two innings. CSUB's lead would swell to 10-0 before the Pilots (1-3) got on the board with the Hawken blast in the top of the eighth.
