PORTLAND, Ore. --- In a back-and-forth game it was only fitting that Gonzaga and Portland needed extra innings, and in the end it was the Bulldogs who prevailed 7-4 over the Pilots in 10 on Saturday night at Joe Etzel Field. The victory gives the Bulldogs two wins over the Pilots, with the finale of the three-game West Coast Conference series scheduled for tomorrow.
The Pilots (8-29-1, 4-13 WCC) did well to rally after falling behind 4-1 after six-and-a-half innings. Trailing by three in the bottom of the seventh, Ryan Hoogerwerf sparked the comeback with a lead-off single.
