Todd Haley knew Sunday evening his offense had plenty of opportunities to beat the New England Patriots. There were the obvious blunders that were fresh in his mind: Landry Jones’ red-zone interception, Chris Hubbard’s holding penalty that negated a touchdown and Chris Boswell’s two missed field goals. But there was much more that left Haley and his staff disgusted after they watched the 27-16 loss again the next day.
There were missed assignments and missed blocks that led to a general feeling of missed opportunity inside the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
“We left a lot out there, run and pass,” Haley said Wednesday after the team’s final practice of the off week.
