Steelers pick LSU's Jerald Hawkins to kick off NFL Draft Day 3

The Steelers kicked off the third day of the NFL draft by selecting offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins of LSU in the fourth round this afternoon.

Hawkins (6-6, 305) was a three-year starter for the Tigers after taking a redshirt in his first season there in 2012. He started 11 games at left tackle as a junior last season, 13 games at right tackle in 2014 and 12 at right tackle in 2012.

The Steelers lost starting left tackle Kelvin Beachum in free agency, but return Allejandro Villanueva, who replaced Beachum after he tore his ACL in the sixth game of the seaosn.
