Brandon Boykin trade forces Steelers to wait 97 spots between selections

The Steelers selected LSU tackle Jerald Hawkins at No. 123 overall, then opened up a few hours of their Saturday schedule.

They don't pick again until No. 220, followed by two seventh-rounders.

Time to enjoy a sunny Saturday in Pittsburgh or catch a movie down the street.

Over the summer, the Steelers moved a fifth-round pick to Philadelphia for the rights to cornerback Brandon Boykin, who seldom played for the first two-thirds of the 2015 season. Boykin signed a one-year deal with Carolina this offseason.

The pick was conditional, so Boykin's limited snaps helped the Steelers preserve the fifth-round status.
