Pirates fall, 5-2, to Rangers in Darvish's return

ARLINGTON, Texas — Even though it had been almost two years since Yu Darvish last took the mound at Globe Life Park, it didn’t take long for him to offer a reminder as to why a full house showed up to watch his return.

Darvish flummoxed the Pirates over five innings en route to a 5-2 Rangers victory in front of a sold-out crowd of 46,950, all of whom were more than happy to bellow “Yuuuuuuu” for the first time since 2014.

Darvish, a three-time All-Star who missed all of last year following offseason Tommy John surgery, allowed three hits and one run and striking out seven.
