The Pirates were able to pull off a sneaky-tough win on Thursday and get out of Miami with three out of four. You may have thought that the Bucs could coast again with Cole on the mound and the Marlins looking as awful as ever, but it’s rarely that easy.
Cole did his job, no doubt about that. His last two starts have been exactly what we wanted to see following a bit of a rough stretch – he looks to be “back” (if you could really say that he ever left). And he finally grabbed that 15th win, which had been eluding him for quite some time.
