Not much to really say about a game like this one. The Pirates played poorly all-around and were never really in it. It stinks to watch, especially in a division game, but over 162, games like that will happen. It’s the second one of the year by my count (the first being the lone loss to the Brewers). The fact that they went in on a five game win streak makes it a little easier to swallow.
Vance Worley was the starter in both of the “stinkers”, and while I wouldn’t really say he’s been that bad, maybe we are starting to see why the Pirates’ original plan was to send him to the bullpen to start the year.
