CHICAGO — Asked Monday afternoon what had contributed to the Pirates’ hot streak, as they arrived at Wrigley Field having won five games in a row and eight of their past 10, manager Clint Hurdle first credited his starting pitchers, and then his offense.
“We’ve had a handful of guys spark our club,” he said before naming a few hitters: Gregory Polanco, Neil Walker, Josh Harrison, Starling Marte and Pedro Alvarez.
“All of them have been involved,” Hurdle said.
