Pirates a "logical" trade fit for Boston's Jon Lester?

In this Pirates rumors and news update, the Pittsburgh Pirates have been named as one of four teams who could be a likely trade destination for Boston Red Sox ace Jon Lester.

According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, while the Los Angeles Dodgers are likely the favorite for the 30-year-old lefty, the Pirates have the prospects necessary to swing a deal:

The Pirates aren't a team that's thought to be enamored by the rental route, but they could use another big-time starter and seem to be in this. They do have prospects, starting with pitchers Jameson Taillon and Tyler Glasnow plus outfielders Josh Bell and Austin Meadows, who could help Boston.

With Pittsburgh sitting just two game behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central and a half-game out in a crowded NL Wild Card race heading into Tuesday's action, adding the perceived top pitcher on the trade market has to be an intriguing possibility for Pirates GM Neal Huntington.

However, the possibility of losing Lester after just two months (along with a hefty trade package of prospects) could cause Pittsburgh to hesitate...at least until the final hours before the deadline.
