Frankie strikes back

Now THAT is what I had in mind for the Pirates when they returned for a long homestand – not that messy Twins series. The Pirates were absolutely dominant this weekend.

The Pirates had more runs (21) this series than the #Mets had hits (20).

#Pirates starters — Cole, Burnett and Liriano — struck out 32 hitters and allowed 2 combined runs over 21 1/3 innings this series.

Of course, the Mets had to deal with the Pirates’ top three starters, but there were certainly some doubts about Francisco Liriano after his disastrous outing on Tuesday.
