World Cup of Hockey notebook: Crosby has been on Canadian national teams for more than a decade

TORONTO – Sidney Crosby has been a fixture on Canadian national teams for more than a decade, and players who have been with him for at least part of that time recognize how he has grown, at the rink and away from it.

“He’s matured a lot over the years,” linemate Patrice Bergeron said. “He’s learned so much.

“He’s won, basically, almost everywhere he’s been and he’s bringing all that experience with him. He’s teaching a lot of guys, just by the way he carries himself, on and off the ice.

“He’s a great role model for kids, and I think he takes that very seriously.
