Postgame: Penguins 3, Sharks 2

The Penguins were down two goals at the end of 40 minutes.

Down a pair of defensemen, too.

Oh, and they were being outshot, 27-10, by an opponent that reached the Stanley Cup final this spring and might well do it again in 2017.

All of which explains why the Penguins’ dressing room wasn’t threatening to challenge Disney World as The Happiest Place on Earth during the second intermission.

“It wasn’t the happiest of feelings,” defenseman Ian Cole said.

Coach Mike Sullivan, though, saw the situation as an opportunity to remind his players that they were capable of coming back if they committed to doing the things that victory demands.
