Pens Announce Five Special “Theme Nights” For 50th Anniversary Season

The Penguins will hold five special theme nights during their 50th anniversary season in 2016-17, starting with the Thursday, October 13 home opener against the Washington Capitals when the team will raise its fourth Stanley Cup banner.

There will be special on-ice ceremony with the Cup and a pre-game video tribute to Penguins history on opening night.

Other theme nights at CONSOL Energy Center are:

• Saturday, October 15 vs. Anaheim – “The Early Years,” featuring players from the 1967-76 teams, as well as original Penguins owner Jack McGregor. The team also will have an old Zamboni Model F ice Resurfacer on display for fans.
