Penguins goaltender Murray returns to practice

Matt Murray returned to Penguins practice today at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, about three and a half weeks after the team announced he had been diagnosed with a broken hand/thumb.

Only four teammates joined Murray, as coach Mike Sullivan gave most of his team the day off with three games in four nights, but Murray probably wasn’t keeping track.

He was happy to stop shots again in a semi-regular setting.

“It’s been awhile,” Murray said. “I was getting a little frustrated not skating with the team. It always feels good to be back out there.
